A good machine for money but not a Miele

By Robert Moore (17/01/2007)
  • Pros: Very easy to use, quiet, stable, good range of programmes, large drum
  • Cons: Over sensitive out of balance, spinning on dryer mode creases clothes

I have now had this machine about 6 months. On the whole I am very pleased with it. It's very easy to use, has great programmes both long and short and is very quiet especially on low spins and when washing. I like the design of the powder drawer and the drum is nice and large.

This is not a badly built machine but is no Miele, time will tell. I do find the out of balance sensor is too sensitive and spinning can take ages, therefore a 1 hour program can take 1 hr 20 mins. Because machines aren't made like they used to be I suppose this has to compensate, but it is annoying especially when time is short. However, it is stable.

The only thing I really hate about this machine is the Cottons drying cycle as when the machine is at high heat it spins at top speed a few times. This leaves my clothes really creased as the creases are set in the heat. It is supposed to shorten drying times but I would prefer longer drying times and shorter ironing times. You can however, use the synthetics drying program.

I've had a slight problem with the door catch not engaging so need to give the door a good slam sometimes.

On the whole though, this is a good machine. It rinses well too and uses a good amount of water without going over the top. Recommended for a small household, for a big household I would go for a Miele.
