Bought the vax v206 in march 2005. Used it three times in 2005, I put it away for the winter. When I came to use it this year it would not dispense any water. I have taken it for repair and told that it will cost £64-00, as it needs a new pump. It is now out of manufactures guarantee. I have written to Vax Ltd explaining all this and await their reply. Fairly simple to assemble, reasonable price (from Tesco.com) - cleaned the carpets quite well 3 or 4 times - then the suction worked but not the fluid dispenser!! No fluid = no cleaner! Very expensive to repair so not worth it and as it was ONE WEEK out of the guarantee, not replacable. The worst £115 I've ever spent, I won't ever buy VAX again. Read Full Review »

I bought one of these from Currys, used it then, cleaned and put away as per instructions, and again just before Christmas. When I tried to use it for only the third time last week, it would not let any water down. I contacted the retailer who refused to exchange as it was more than 28 days since purchase.
