Having done an internet search for reviews of vacuum cleaners I had a very short list of potential models to buy. I needed an upright cleaner, because it sits in a corner of the room and a cylinder is just too messy to have hanging around. Which? implied that uprights really weren't worth bothering with, especially if you have carpets and pet hairs to deal with. They grudgingly put this model in the top 3 uprights in their review.

Well, I think that they were pretty stingey. It took just a few minutes to assemble out of the box, following the clear instructions. I cleaned carpets that I had only vacuumed yesterday and I was ashamed to have a dustbag quarter full at the end. It was excellent at picking up pet hairs and loose threads from carpets. It is quite heavy (18lbs, 8.2kg) to carry up the stairs but is very easy to maneuver in use. In fact it feels like it has power assisted steering!

The build quality feels good. Obviously I can't comment on the durability or reliability yet.

If you have carpets and pet hairs to deal with, I would recommend this machine. It is better than the Dyson and Miele cylinder cleaners that I have used previously.
