Great Espresso Machine but not sure about longevity

By Gareth Jordan (07/01/2006)
  • Pros: Tall enough to fit a mug under
  • Cons: Lasted only a year and a half

Great looking machine that can be adapted to use the 44mm pods.

The frother nozzle is plastic and should not be removed to be cleaned, or the thread soon goes and can no longer be used ( I made this mistake and needed to order a replacement).

Once you have got used to Espresso and frothy coffee, instant coffee is a definate no-no. This machine produces a great cup of coffee, and the frother/steamer is very good indeed.

The height of the unit allows proper mugs to be placed underneath it, rather than some espresso makers that only allow silly little cups.

Unfortunately, the unit has now started to leak from the main pressure unit, and after a year and a half of heavy use will need to be sent to the great coffee maker heaven in the sky.

Howevr, I am looking at buying another one - so that show that the unit is good, just longevity is not (or at least not in my case).

I produce around 20 cups/mugs of coffee per day on mine, so if that is excessive, yours should last a great deal longer.

The chrome/steel effect starts to get rusty after a few months as well.
