    2 month and out

Kenwood ES 547 Retro By Anonymous (12/04/2007)
    • Pros: Good coffee
    • Cons: Not reliable at all, terrible customer service

Bought the £140 machine end of January 2007; we had nice coffee for a couple of months, then no more. It now drips water from every where but the coffee pod. My wife has got electrocuted by switching it off (to stop the dripping).

I spoke with Kenwood customer services, who required the serial number from the back of the machine. Provided the number to be told that they will not do anything for m... Read Full Review »

    Good expresso but it broke

Kenwood ES 547 Retro By Matt Siviter (29/03/2006)
    • Pros: nice looking
    • Cons: 3 days after the warranty expired the pressure unit leaked dangerously

It was leaking next to the electronics - it could have electrocuted me. Read Full Review »

Lots of show, but not much go!

Kenwood ES 547 Retro By Chris Whealy (21/03/2006)
    • Pros: Great style!
    • Cons: Poor design and poor build quality

This machine looks great sitting in your kitchen, however using it is irritating and the build quality is very poor.

How do I hate thee, let me count the ways...

    1) The coffee holder has a flimsy plastic handle & needs to be located quite firmly onto the underside of the machine; however, this requires applying some sideways force. I broke one handle & cracked a second whilst doing this!

    2) If ... Read Full Review »

Great Espresso Machine but not sure about longevity

Kenwood ES 547 Retro By Gareth Jordan (07/01/2006)
    • Pros: Tall enough to fit a mug under
    • Cons: Lasted only a year and a half

Great looking machine that can be adapted to use the 44mm pods.

The frother nozzle is plastic and should not be removed to be cleaned, or the thread soon goes and can no longer be used ( I made this mistake and needed to order a replacement).

Once you have got used to Espresso and frothy coffee, instant coffee is a definate no-no. This machine produces a great cup of coffee, and the frother/ste... Read Full Review »
